July 12 (Monday, 8:00 p.m.): The Reiner Family Band (along with others) plays BCMFest Celtic Music Monday at Club Passim as a benefit concert for the annual Boston Celtic Music Festival (a.k.a. BCMFest).  Come a bit early and have dinner at Veggie Planet, the fantastic vegetarian restaurant that shares space with Club Passim.  47 Palmer Street, Cambridge, MA (in Harvard Square).  Admission $15 for nonmembers, $10 for Club Passim members, and $5 for kids 12 and under at the door.

July 10 (Saturday, 8:00-11:00 p.m.): Eric plays a square and contra dance at the Concord Scout House with Debby Knight (fiddle), Jim Guinness (saxophone, flute, whistles), and Walter Lenk (mandocello), with Bob Golder and Linda Leslie calling.  74 Walden Street, Concord, MA.  Admission $8, and $6 for teens.

July 7 (Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.): Matching Orange's Maine CD release show at Blue, a great live music food venue serving terrific food, wine, and beer.  650A Congress Street, Portland, ME.  Suggested donation.

June 28 (Monday, 7:30-10:30 p.m.): Matching Orange plays the Monday Night Contra Dance at the Concord Scout House, along with Jack O'Connor (mandolin, banjo, percussion).  74 Walden Street, Concord, MA.  Admission $8, and $5 for people 22 and under.

June 27 (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.): Eric performs with master Irish fiddler Seamus Connolly, flutist Skip McKinley, and vocalist Haley Plourde-Cole at the Saltwater Farm Vineyard.  Sample great, local wine while listening to live music!  349 Elm Street, Stonington, CT.  For more details, call 860-415-9072.  Admission $20 (purchase at the door).

June 25 (Friday, 8:30-11:30 p.m.): Matching Orange plays the Glen Echo Contra Dance, with Steve Gester calling.  Optional beginner's workshop from 7:30-8:15 p.m.  Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park, Oxford Park, Glen Echo, MD.  Admission $9.

June 24 (Thursday, 8:00-11:00 p.m.): Matching Orange plays the Glenside Contra Dance, with Lisa Greenleaf calling.  Optional beginner's workshop at 7:30 p.m.  Glenside Memorial Hall, Waverly Road and Keswick Avenue, Glenside, PA.  Admission $9, $5 for students, and free for children under 12.

June 23 (Wednesday, 8:00-11:00 p.m.): Matching Orange plays the Baltimore Contra Dance, with Susan Taylor calling.  Optional new dancer orientation at 7:30 p.m.  Lovely Lane Methodist Church, 2200 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD.  Admission $12, $8 for members, $6 for student nonmembers, and $5 for student members.

June 20 (Sunday, 7:00 p.m.): Performance of Ken Kolodner (hammered dulcimer player extraordinaire) and his son, Bradley Kolodner (banjo), along with Elke Baker (Scottish fiddler) and Matching Orange in Ken's backyard (rain location: inside Ken's house).  Ken and Eric play several tracks together on Eric's CD, "On a Meadowlark Night," and will play together at the concert as well.  Performance will be followed by jamming!  3806 Fenchurch Road, Baltimore, MD.  Admission $18.  For information and reservations, contact Ken at 410-243-7254.

June 12 (Saturday, 8:00-11:00 p.m.): Matching Orange plays at the Concord Scout House for the Country Dance Society (CDS) 2nd Saturday Contra Dance, with Jeff Petrovich calling.  74 Walden Street, Concord, MA.  Admission $10, $8 for CDS Boston members, and $6 for people 21 and under.

June 11 (Friday, 7:00-9:00 p.m.): Matching Orange plays a for Dancing in the Stacks contra/square dance at Cary Memorial Library, with George Marshall calling.  1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA.  Organized by the Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB) and open to everyone.  Free!

June 5 (Saturday, 7:30-10:30 p.m.): Matching Orange plays the Medway Contra Dance, with Chris Lahey calling. 14 School Street, Medway, MA. Admission $8 for adults, $4 for free, and free for children under 12.

2009

December 31: Ring in 2010 with the New Year's Eve Contra Dance at the Concord Scout House!  Lisa Greenleaf and Walter Lenk will be calling, to the music of Amy Richardson Larkin (fiddle), Emily Troll (fiddle), Debby Knight (fiddle and piano), Eric Eid-Reiner (piano), Jack O'Connor (mandolin, banjo, percussion), and Cal Howard (bass).  74 Walden Street, Concord, MA.  Admission is $12, at the door.

December 27: The Reiner Family Band (Andy, Cindy, Dave, Eric) play a concert in Key West. Congregation B'Nai Zion, 750 United Street, Key West, FL, $15.

December 4: Eric and fiddler Julie Metcalf will be performing at Cary Memorial Library in Lexington, on Lexington Shopper's Night!  Stores and restaurants will be open late for your eating, browsing and shopping.  The Library will be open from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with refreshments, our performance, and other exciting happenings.  Entry and food are free! 1874 Mass. Ave., Lexington, MA.

November 14: Held annually and organized by Eric’s Dad, David Reiner, Fiddle Hell is an informal gathering of fiddlers to meet, jam, learn, and have fun. Fiddle Hell runs all weekend, but Eric will just be there on Saturday: accompanying a Scottish and Cape Breton jam (1:00-2:20 p.m.), teaching a beginning-intermediate piano accompaniment workshop (2:30-3:20 p.m.), accompanying an Irish jam led by fiddler Brendan Carey Block and bones player Steve Brown (4:30-6:00 p.m.), and accompanying the big Saturday night event (8:00 p.m.). The Stagecoach Inn, 128 Main Street, Route 119, Groton, MA. Suggested minimum donation of $20. Fiddlers only!

November 7: Matching Orange plays the Medway Contra Dance, with caller TBA. 14 School Street, Medway, MA. Admission $7, $3 for students, and free for those under 12.

November 6: Matching Orange plays the Challenging Contra Dance at the Concord Scout House, with Bob Isaacs calling. 74 Walden Street, Concord, MA. Admission $9, or $7 for those under 21.

October 31: Eric plays for the Boston Gender-Free Contra Dance, with John Chambers (accordion, fiddle, mandolin, and whistle) and Glenn Dickson, and caller TBA. Halloween Klezmer Contra Dance Party! Costumes welcome. 1st Church of Jamaica Plain (Unitarian-Universalist), 6 Eliot Street (at the monument), Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA. Admission $10, $6 for students, and free for children under 12.

October 16: Matching Orange plays the Brown University Contra Dance, with Lucia Watson calling. Alumni Hall, Brown University, Thayer Street, Providence, RI. Admission $7.

October 12 (Columbus Day): Eric, Dave Reiner and Paul Harty at Buell's Orchard, Fall Festival. Food, fresh fruits and veggies for sale, hay rides, and more! Free fun for the whole family! 108 Crystal Pond Road, Eastford, CT.

October 9: Matching Orange plays a contra dance at Bates College, with caller TBA. Chase Hall, 2 Andrews Road, Lewiston, ME. Admission $5.

October 3: Matching Orange opens for the acclaimed Scottish folk band, Malinky, in the NotloB concert series. Unity Church of God in Davis Square: 6 William St., Somerville, MA. September 26: Part of the Reiner Family Band (Eric with David Reiner and Paul Harty) plays at the Burlington Historical Commission’s outdoor festival at the Burlington Town Common, Burlington, MA

July 31-August 2: Matching Orange plays for dances, performs, and more at the fantastic Champlain Valley Folk Festival, alongside other great bands including my brother’s band Blue Moose and the Unbuttoned Zippers, Crowfoot, Laura Risk and Jacqueline Schwab (an amazing piano teacher of mine), and many others. April 25: Matching Orange performs a set at NEFFA (the New England Folk Festival Association), 250 East Street, Mansfield, MA.

April 10: CD release show for Eric's CD at Wheaton College for "On a Meadowlark Night: Dance Music from New England, Ireland, Scotland, Québec, and Cape Breton."  Eric is joined by fiddlers Kimberley Fraser and David Reiner, flutist Anna Grosslein, and mandolin player Eric McDonald.

April 5: Eric plays with fiddlers David Kaynor and Cedar Stanistreet at Springstep in Medford.  This is the 1st Annual Membership Meeting and Contra Dance of BIDA (Boston Intergenerational Dance Advocates).  Springstep is at 98 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford, MA.

April 3: Eric joins fiddler Julie Metcalf on a tune or two at her Senior Recital at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Free! In the Lawrence and Alma Berk Recital Hall, 1140 Boylston Street, Boston, MA.
